What am I doing here?
As I navigate through life, grappling generational trauma, building a life in a dive bar, the experience of my house burning down, and the overwhelming and unconventional grief of losing both my parents, I’m lucky enough to fall in love with new foods, laugh until it hurts, see the world, and heal in unexpected places along the way. While I am now embarking on a brighter chapter, connecting and hearing stories from people who had shared similar experiences in the past has helped me persevere. Not only is it therapeutic for me to tell my own story, I also hope I can provide support and empathetic perspectives to others as I continue to navigate my way through this bewildering world.
To write a simple explanation of what this blog is about would be impossible. Life is short, and I refuse to fit all the parts of my life into neat boxes, I may be reorganizing my life, but I see no need for any type of confinement. I don’t believe I’m here for one purpose in life to excel at, I think I’m here to be sort-of-okay at a lot of things that make me feel good.
So, whether you want to take a glimpse into the sporadic and unpredictable parts of this chaotic life, seek someone to relate to when you have absolutely no idea of what direction you’re going, or maybe you just want to see a few pictures of highland cows, you’re subscribing to the right person, it’s me, I’m your girl.
This compilation is built with journal entries, recipes, travel experiences, creations, and anything else that makes me feel like a person.
Thanks for being here.
